Fried Bolonga Sandwich

So it finally happened, I finally had my fried bolonga sandwich at Maple & Motor. I had been craving it all week and talking about it for longer than I can remember, so I finally decided we had to go.  This craving was satisfied when the bolonga sandwich was placed in front of me and with the first bite I knew it was everything I could have possibly imagined. A buttered & toasted bun, plenty of mayo, lettuce, tomato and a think slice of bolonga. The perfectly grilled piece of mystery meat was heavenly. It tasted like a hot dog in a burger like form. Charity Chili Cook-Off

It is that time of year, time to be outdoors and enjoy the fresh spring air with friends and family.  That is why Feed Me Dallas has decided to host a Charity Chili Cook-Off between some of  Dallas’ favorite restaurants.  Some of the most innovative chefs in Dallas will come together in full force on April 13th at the McKinney Avenue Tavern and will compete for the winning title of Chili Champion.  The winning team will receive all proceeds to donate to the charity of their choice.

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to enjoy lunch with Hopdoddy‘s culinary director, James Bowen. During this more than delicious lunch my eyes were opened to the art that is Hopdoddy. Obviously, when ordering I let the expert give me a few recommendations including his favorites, the Continental Club- Turkey, Provolone, Apple-Smoked Bacon, Arugula, Mayo & Basil Pesto on Whole Wheat or the Magic Shroom- Angus Beef, Texas Goat Cheese, Field Mushrooms, Mayo & Basil Pesto.
